The following rehabilitation services are provided at Milner through a contract with a therapy company and as ordered by your physician. These services can be provided through both inpatient and outpatient. |

A certified occupational therapist assist residents in attaining their optimal level of function. This is done by adaptation or exercises or assistive devices for the resident whose ability to perform the requirements of daily living are threatened or impaired. |

Therapy Services |

A certified speech therapist provides management of communication disorders which interfere with a person’s ability to communicate and function effectively in their environment. They also diagnose and treat a variety of swallowing disorders that result from strokes and many other degenerative disorders. |

A certified physical therapist screen and/or evaluated each resident. The therapist develops an individual treatment program based on four principles; pain reduction, neurological rehabilitation, improved range of motion and increased strength. Physical therapy utilizes heat, cold, water, light, ultra sound, therapeutic exercises, electrical stimulation and hands on techniques to achieve these goals. |
